The cast and crew of Norm Foster's Maggie's Getting Married would like to thank everyone for coming to the show. The actors fed off the energy of the audience each night. Comments after the show were passed along to the cast and we've received a number of wonderful reviews.
Bedford Players held their Annual General Meeting at the Bedford Basin Yacht Club on Sunday, June 7th. There was a great turnout and good reviews on the year.
We were sad to see John Slor retire from Bedford Players after 15 years. John has taken on many roles within our group. There was a social afterward where a number of longtime members paid tribute to John through a moving skit about John. We miss him already and wish him the best.
We're also losing Lillian Inglis. Lillian produced Maggie's Getting Married and did a fantastic job. She's moving out west. We hear she's looking into starting a theatre group in her new community. All the best Lillian.
Our Fall production is the farce Sorry! Wrong Chimney! by Jack Sharkey and Leo W. Sears. Jill Curly will direct. Jill was recently seen in Bedford Players productions as Wanda in Maggie's Getting Married, Monica in Sinners and Barbara in No Sex Please, We're British. Our last Jack Sharkey production at Bedford Players was I Take This Man in Spring 2007.
In the Spring we'll bring you Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn and Stacey Fownes will direct. Stacey recently directed Maggie's Getting Married by Norm Foster. Stacey was also seen on our stage as Frances in No Sex Please, We're British.
