The play is a touching romantic comedy that follows the pitfalls a family encounters on the eve of their daughter’s wedding.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students.

Volunteer Recognition

The Bedford Volunteer Awards were held on April 5th. Bedford Players put forward Kathy O'Brien as our volunteer to be recognized. Kathy has worked very hard over the last couple of years with us. Highlights include: New Membership Drive in January 2008, pulling together a new website, member of the board, acting in our productions including Sinners by Norm Foster and has taken on the role of Executive Producer.

We'd like to thank Kathy once again and congratulate her many accomplishments and contributions to Bedford Players.

Play Suggestions

With the Spring production now underway, it's time to start thinking about next year's plays! The Play Reading and Selection Committee is about to get rolling and we're looking for potential directors, play readers, and play suggestions from everyone. Kathy O'Brien and Dawn Patterson have compiled a catalogued play library (over 120 scripts) and have also gathered play catalogues from various publishers. Here's your chance to have some fun (the meetings usually involve food and wine) and input regarding our next shows. We'd like to hear from:

Potential Directors for Next Year:

Ideally, you can have a look through the current play catalogues and our library to find something you would like to direct (or let us know if you have a play in mind). The suggested play will go to the Committee and the Executive Counsel for the final decision. You need not have directed in the past, but should have some theatre experience. Kathy at 832-4791 or kaobrien@eastlink.ca.

Play Readers:

We need people to read the plays currently in the Library. Many have potential to be upcoming productions but, until now, we haven't had a way to keep track of peoples' opinions and comments. As we'd like to select the plays before the Annual General Meeting on June 7th, the initial meeting will be very soon (i.e. next week, the day depending on availability of people who are interested). We'll meet (hopefully weekly) to discuss, trade plays, pick-up new plays, etc. Think of it as a play treasure hunt with socializing. The goal is to get a 'short list' of the best plays for potential directors and the Executive Counsel. If you're interested in participating, call or email Kathy at 832-4791 or kaobrien@eastlink.ca.

People with Play Suggestions:

If you've seen a good play that you think would be great for Bedford Players, email your suggestion to Kathy at kaobrien@eastlink.ca.
