2008 has brought a flood of new members to Bedford Players. We began the year with a
major membership drive for Backstage Stars
(those all-important people who make the plays happen)
and couldn't be happier with the results! We have welcomed over 50 new members and, to our delight,
have new "trainees" for every backstage role.
Our New Member Event of January 13th was a great success. Close to 60 people attended, with the group almost evenly split between new people and returning members. We ate, we drank, we chatted and we mingled (the get-a-signature mixer was a great ice-breaker). We also answered questions and toured the theatre, had a draw, and signed people up for social events and backstage roles.
Nearly all of our new members are now actively involved behind-the-scenes with
No Sex Please, We're British
, and many have joined us for social outings to
TAG and Dartmouth Players. Their enthusiasm and involvement promises to make 2008 and beyond banner
years for Bedford Players.
