This is our first newsletter of the 2008-2009 season. In this newsletter, we have information about our upcoming play Sinners by Norm Foster, auditions and a brief look behind the scenes.
You may have noticed a new look for our website. Our webmaster has been working hard and making our site look good. We've improved our gallery. We're gathering information on our past productions to put on the site and to get more photos in the gallery.
At our AGM in June, there were a number of great ideas for improving the website. One new feature we're adding is a comment and review section so that you can tell us what you think. Expect to see that section in time for Sinners. Keep watching for other features as well.
Bedford Players, the people who brought you No Sex Please, We're British has started working on our Fall production: Sinners by Norm Foster with director Robin Saywood. Performaces are Thursdays – Saturdays October 30th to November 15th (3-week run). Parts of the play were read at the AGM and it is going to be one hilarious play.
About the play: A furniture store owner is having an affair with the local minister's wife. The situation becomes complicated when the minister comes home unexpectedly. An intricate web of deceit is hilariously exposed as the police, members of the parish and the women's auxiliary all get involved.
Auditions were held Tuesday September 2nd and Wednesday September 3rd. Sunday September 7th, the actors had their first rehearsal. To the actors we say: break a leg! (Don't worry, the set builders have been told to make the stage stronger so you won't fall through it this time.)
A production meeting was held in early August to get started. Producers Alleen Parsons and Lillian Inglis filled many positions prior to the meeting. Producers, Directors, Stage Managers, Technical Managers, Set Design and Construction, Costumes, Props, etc... are all preparing for our performances. Many new members from our membership drive are involved in the production.
Now that the Summer holidays are over, everyone is back to work and having fun.
